Galaxy 19 Delivering Saba World Arabic and Persian Content to North America
Intelsat Corporate Communications
Whether it’s news, sports, movies, or religious programming, the ability to access native-language content is important to multicultural audiences, no matter where they live. Lebanon-based Saba World, a key provider of managed services, is utilizing Intelsat’s Galaxy 19 (G-19) Direct-to-Home (DTH) neighborhood to provide content from the Middle East to viewers in North America. In 2022, Saba started using G-19 to reliably deliver native language, multi-cultural programming, such as Arabic and Persian content to the growing North American viewer population.
As the largest independent DTH TV and radio community in North America, G-19 delivers specialty content from 50 countries in nearly 30 languages to more than 1.2 million viewers. A recent viewership survey demonstrated that Arabic viewers still represent a very strong audience for Middle Eastern broadcasters: 96% of Arabic-speaking households in the U.S. watch Arabic-language programming. Among that group, 40% use G-19 to watch Arabic-language programming. With strong viewership that is only slated to grow, the untapped potential for broadcasters using G-19 is infinite.
