Intelsat and Televisa Expanding TV Programming to LATAM Viewers

Intelsat’s Media network provides distribution and contribution services to millions of subscribers

MCLEAN, Va. – Intelsat, operator of one of the world’s largest integrated satellite and terrestrial network and leading provider of inflight connectivity (IFC), has signed a multi-year and multi-transponder deal with Televisa to continue TV programming distribution to viewers in Latin America.

Televisa will be utilizing transponders across three satellites, Intelsat 34 (IS-34), Galaxy 16 (G-16), and Galaxy 19 (G-19), to provide TV programming to regional viewers.

“This renewal builds on the longstanding relationship between Intelsat and Televisa and demonstrates the trust they have in us and the Intelsat fleet to deliver their TV programming in North America and Latin America,” said Richard Kohlweg, managing sales director, Intelsat LATAM Media Services.

Intelsat’s media satellites in Latin America provide content providers with extensive reach, accessing over 44 million cable subscribers and 2,000 cable systems. Additionally, the company’s satellites IS-34, G-16 and G-19 host a variety of top-watched Pay TV programming ranging from entertainment to sports and music.
