Video on New Test Results for High-Throughput Satellites Confirm Higher Performance
High-throughput satellite (HTS) platforms like Intelsat EpicNG are poised to take on the growing demand for more flexible connectivity and enhanced performance, all at a lower cost per-bit.
Our new video reviews the results of Intelsat EpicNG performance testing. Intelsat General tested its EpicNG IS-29e satellite using unmanned aerial systems (UAS), including Class III aircraft, with very small SATCOM Ku-band antennas transmitting full-motion high-definition video. The link was effectively two times the rate and almost three times more efficient than is possible on traditional widebeam satellites. Using next generation ground networking technologies resulted in further efficiency improvement of 300%.
With Intelsat EpicNG, military and other government users can take advantage of HTS performance, efficiency and capacity without investing in new ground equipment and infrastructure. An open architecture using either C- and Ku-band frequencies enables organizations to affordably and efficiently scale their communication networks for new or expanded operations while leveraging their existing investments.
