Galaxy 30
The newest addition to Intelsat’s North America Galaxy Fleet and the most efficient media distribution system in North America.
Galaxy 30 (G-30) is the first satellite in Intelsat’s comprehensive Galaxy fleet refresh plan, a new generation of technology that will provide Intelsat Media customers in North America with high-performance broadcast distribution capabilities. It is critical to Intelsat’s U.S. C-band clearing strategy. With additional Ku-band and Ka-band steerable beams, G-30 will also serve some of Intelsat’s North American government, mobility and enterprise customers.
Galaxy 30 launched on the Arianespace Ariane 5 rocket from the Guiana Space Center near Kourou, French Guiana at 6:04 p.m. EDT on August 15, 2020. Intelsat confirmed its signal acquisition at 7:02 p.m. EDT the same day.
