About David
David Wajsgras brings over 25 years of executive leadership experience, with strategic, operational, and financial expertise across both commercial and defense sectors.
Appointed CEO of Intelsat in April 2022, Wajsgras has spearheaded a transformative strategy to shift the company from a wholesale broadband capacity provider to an end-to-end managed services communications provider. This strategic pivot has enabled Intelsat to expand in core and new markets segments. Under his leadership, Intelsat successfully executed a record-breaking eight geosynchronous satellite launches in ten months, facilitating 5G deployment across the United States.
Wajsgras has also strengthened Intelsat’s position in the rapidly evolving “new space” economy by forging strategic partnerships to accelerate company and industry capabilities. Notably, he expanded the company’s collaboration with EutelsatOneWeb, culminating in a partnership to integrate OneWeb’s LEO services as part of Intelsat’s multi-orbit solutions platform. He has driven investments in other pioneering companies, including Greenerwave, HiSky, Starfish and Aalyria, advancing new technologies, improving cost efficiencies and enabling market expansion.
In 2024, Wajsgras positioned Intelsat for a landmark combination with SES in a $3.1 billion transaction, lauded as “The Biggest Deal of 2024” by Via Satellite. Pending regulatory approval, the new combined company aims to revolutionize satellite-powered managed services through multi-orbit and multi-band capabilities.
Prior to Intelsat, Wajsgras was a partner at Pine Island Capital Partners, where he focused on strategic investments in the aerospace, defense, and intelligence sectors.
From 2015 to 2020, Wajsgras served as President of Raytheon’s Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) division, a $7.5 billion Business delivering cutting-edge solutions in defense, intelligence, space, cybersecurity, and training. During his tenure, he drove significant sales growth and enhanced profitability through technology investments, cost reduction initiatives, and a comprehensive digital transformation strategy.
Before leading IIS, Wajsgras was Raytheon’s Senior Vice President and CFO, overseeing the financial strategy of the $60 billion enterprise. He also held the role of Executive Vice President and CFO at Lear Corporation, where he led all financial operations. He also had P&L responsibility for the more than $4 billion manufacturing division.
Wajsgras’s leadership and contributions have been widely recognized. In 2024, he was named Executive of the Year by the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce and Professional Services Council and featured on the Virginia 500 Power List by Virginia Magazine. He was also honored as CEO of the Year by WashingtonExec in 2023 and Intelligence Executive of the Year in 2019. His accolades include multiple appearances on Executive Mosaic’s Wash100 list, FCW’s prestigious Industry Eagle Award in 2018, and recognition as one of The Wall Street Journal’s 25 Best CFOs.
In addition to his executive roles, Wajsgras serves on the Board of Directors for Parsons Corporation (NYSE: PSN), Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. (NYSE: MLM), and Nightwing, a U.S. intelligence services company. BOD committees include Audit and Management Compensation. He is also a Director for Dreamscape Immersive and Altamira Technologies Corporation.
Wajsgras holds a BS from the University of Maryland and an MBA from American University.
