Intelsat, the world’s leading provider of fixed satellite services, announced it signed a contract with Mexico’s Televisa, Latin America’s prime broadcaster and the world’s principal producer of Spanish-language content, for expanded international distribution of Televisa’s programming. Under this contract, Intelsat will distribute Televisa’s Pay TV programming to viewers throughout Europe via the Intelsat 905 satellite located at 335.5º E. The broadcaster will utilize Intelsat’s teleport in Fuchsttadt, Germany, for turnaround services of its content into Europe. Televisa has also secured additional capacity via the Intelsat 11 satellite, located at 317º E, to expand its programming bouquet with new channels for the Latin American cable TV sector.
