Intelsat to be Major Sponsor of ITW 2009; Creating One Marquee Forum for Telecommunications Industry

Pembroke, Bermuda, and London, England, 18 December 2008

Intelsat, Ltd., the world’s leading provider of fixed satellite services, has announced that it will be a major sponsor of TelCap’s International Telecoms Week’s (ITW) second annual conference at the Marriott Wardman Park hotel, in Washington, D.C. Intelsat’s sponsorship will bring Intelsat’s Global Telecommunications Meeting (GTM) into ITW, resulting in the world’s single largest bi-lateral trading forum for telecommunications carriers.

ITW 2009 is poised to be a landmark summit, with leading dealmakers converging in Washington, D.C., 1-3 June 2009. Conference sessions, networking events and bi-lateral trading forums will be geared toward Tier 1, 2 and 3 carriers, mobile and wireless operators, ISPs, VoIP providers, voice, data, satellite, sub-sea and fixed-line operators. In a demonstration of Intelsat’s commitment to ITW, Intelsat has reserved an entire hall at the Marriott Wardman Park that will house its pavilion and private meeting rooms. Intelsat plans to host its annual evening gala for its customers and business associates on Monday, 1 June.

Attendees at ITW 2009 will have an opportunity to attend a full day of satellite-related panels and presentations, hosted and sponsored exclusively by Intelsat. These sessions will showcase satellite-enabled solutions for many of the most pressing telecommunications issues facing today’s global corporate network operators, carriers, wireless operators and governments.

“ITW’s inaugural event was very successful. We are delighted to welcome Intelsat as an important sponsor of ITW in 2009 and to welcome its annual customer meeting as part of the proceedings. By cooperating with Intelsat, we will deliver a cohesive forum to our delegates and maximize attendees’ time at the event,” said Mark Kemp, CEO, TelCap, the organizers of ITW.

“GTM was successful for more than three decades because it delivered a highly efficient environment for our customers, the world’s telecom providers, to meet and transact business with us and with each other,” said Stephen Spengler, Intelsat’s Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing. “We are convinced that by supporting ITW, our customers will enjoy a productive week with all of the networking and educational benefits afforded by our combined resources. We are committed to partnering with TelCap to make ITW the premier event in the carrier industry.”
