Intelsat, Ltd., the world’s leading provider of commercial satellite services, today announced that Information Week, the Global VSAT Forum and respected satellite industry consulting firm, Futron, will join Business Week and the International Telecommunication Union in leading discussions on the most current topics in global telecommunications at the Global Telecommunications Meeting (GTM) to be held 2 -5 June in Washington, D.C. Communications industry executives and analysts will gather at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel and relay the latest business developments highlighting mobility, advanced broadband applications, video broadcast and on-demand services.
Key presenters include senior executives from Verizon, AT&T, BT, Panasonic, Globe Wireless, PCCW, Cisco, Nokia Siemens, Avail Media, Tandberg, iDirect Technologies, Globecast World TV and USTA. Dr. Hamadoun Touré, Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union will deliver the keynote address.
Industry experts will discuss delivery of vital information and content services to every point on the globe. Also on 3 June, The Global VSAT Forum (GVF) will lead a panel discussion highlighting “Bridging the Digital Divide.” This session will examine the advanced satellite-enabled solutions that are needed to satisfy a wide range of critical network requirements, especially in developing regions. Today, bridging the ‘digital divide’ is paramount for on-demand, seamless communications and this panel will discuss how strategies, initiatives and actions are turning this catch phrase into a viable business platform.
On 4 June, Futron Corp. will lead a panel discussion highlighting “IPTV or DTH? Developing Video Solutions in a Telco World.” This session will discuss different approaches for telecommunication companies to develop competitive and sustainable video offerings for their clients.
