SkyVision Secures Capacity on Intelsat’s IS-601 Satellite for African Broadband Connectivity

Pembroke, Bermuda, and Delaware, USA, 03 April 2008

Intelsat, Ltd., the world's leading provider of commercial satellite services, and SkyVision Global Networks LLC (“SkyVision”), a leading global provider of Internet services over satellite and terrestrial fibre optic systems, announced today that SkyVision has signed a multi-year, multi-transponder contract for capacity on the Intelsat 601 satellite. This contract will provide SkyVision the ability to offer ’end-to-end’ solutions, deploying standard and customized IP service platforms for its customers in Africa.

“SkyVision continues to experience strong demand for its African broadband services, and Intelsat has responded to our growth need with capacity on the Intelsat 601 satellite. The combination of Intelsat’s quality services and SkyVision’s extensive presence in all the service segments of the African market gives us the opportunity to provide solutions to our customers that will enable them to compete successfully in their fast-growing markets,” said Mark Gazit, CEO of SkyVision. “We already have a pipeline of customers waiting to be connected to our DVB/SCPC service operating over the IS-601. These customers will enjoy a premium-grade service, powered by a 32-meter antenna uplink in Europe, with the ability to expand using the multi-transponder capacity we have secured through this agreement.”

Under the agreement, starting in 2008, SkyVision will lease C-band capacity on the Intelsat 601 satellite. The capacity is expected to power broadband services for SkyVision’s customers in Africa.

”After more than four decades of service throughout Africa, Intelsat continues to offer its customers capacity solutions to support video, network and voice requirements,” said Kurt Riegelman, Intelsat’s Senior Vice President, Global Sales. “Our 601 satellite provides much-needed capacity over Africa, helping SkyVision accelerate and succeed with its business initiatives in this highly-competitive region.”
