Hello,
The excitement created by Intelsat EpicNG is changing the industry’s dialog about high-throughput satellites. My conversations with many of our customers confirm that Intelsat is setting the pace on technology that will support your business into the next decade.
Designed to provide high performance satellite communications infrastructure for fixed and mobile applications, Intelsat EpicNG is attracting North America’s leading enterprise, aeronautical and maritime providers, including Panasonic Avionics, Harris CapRock and MTN. We also are nearing completion of our global broadband mobility platform in early 2013, which will provide connectivity for customers at sea, on land and in the air.
I am also pleased to report that Intelsat launched three new satellites this past summer. Intelsat 19, Intelsat 20 and Intelsat 21 each carry multiple MCPC platforms and collectively replenish video distribution capacity across three continents. Together with IntelsatOne, these satellites provide customers unparalleled access to South America, Africa and Asia, and their video neighborhoods offer customers up to 100 percent cable headend penetration.
In this issue of Insider, read about:
- The new Miami Point of Presence on IntelsatOne, a gateway for North American communications providers seeking access to Latin America
- The launch of Carrier ID at the 2012 London Games and our efforts in combating interference
- Our new inclined orbit satellite services, designed to deliver improved cost efficiency for applications such as internet trunking, cellular backhaul and mobility services.
I hope to meet with you in person at Oilcomm in Houston, TX, on 6-8 November, and SATCON 2012 in New York, which takes place 14-15 November.
Thank you,
Mark Rasmussen
