Hello,
The excitement created by Intelsat EpicNG is changing the industry’s dialog about high-throughput satellites. My conversations with many of our customers confirm that Intelsat is setting the pace on technology that will support your business into the next decade.
Early commitments to Intelsat EpicNG reflect the increasingly mobile nature of communications in our region. Harris CapRock has committed for beams supporting off-shore energy solutions in the Gulf of Mexico, and MTN recently committed for capacity that will support Caribbean cruise lines.
Our launch activity with respect to capacity for Latin America is nearing its peak. Intelsat 21, which launched on 19 August, is set to enter service in early October and will provide capacity for the premiere cable distribution neighborhood in Latin America for DTH services across Mexico and enterprise VSAT services in Brazil. Intelsat 23 will provide enhanced capacity for enterprise, oil and gas, and data networking applications across four continents, and Intelsat 27 will strengthen one of our leading video distribution neighborhoods while bringing new and growing DTH services to Brazil.
In this issue of Insider, read about:
- The new Miami Point of Presence on IntelsatOne, a gateway for our region’s communications providers seeking to take their content to the global stage
- Our new inclined orbit satellite services, designed to deliver improved cost efficiency for applications such as Internet trunking, cellular backhaul and mobility services.
- The launch of Carrier ID at the 2012 London Games and our efforts in combating interference
I look forward to continuing our conversations in the future, as we prepare for the world’s attention to shift to Latin America and the 2014 World Cup.
Thank you,
Carmen Gonzalez-Sanfeliu
