Hello,
The excitement created by Intelsat EpicNG is changing the industry’s dialog about high-throughput satellites. My conversations with many of our customers confirm that Intelsat is setting the pace on technology that will support your business into the next decade.
Intelsat EpicNG is attracting the world’s leading aeronautical and maritime providers with its open architecture and backwards compatible design, and will bring a high-performance satellite communications infrastructure to Asia-Pacific. Panasonic Avionics has committed to capacity on the platform to service the busy North Atlantic aeronautical routes, and Gogo has signed an agreement that will enable it to offer its customers in-flight Internet access for transoceanic air routes and other areas around the globe. We also are nearing completion of our global broadband mobility platform in early 2013, which will provide connectivity for customers at sea, on land and in the air.
Our launch activity with respect to capacity for Asia-Pacific is nearing its peak. Intelsat 19 entered service on 13 August, providing replacement capacity for our video neighborhood at 166° East and deploying an important segment of our global broadband mobility platform. Intelsat 20 began service 17 September, and serves nearly 90 million Pay-TV subscribers in India while hosting
C-band video distribution for Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Finally, Intelsat 18 and Intelsat 22 bring new and refreshed capacity to our region as well.
