Hello,
The excitement created by Intelsat EpicNG is changing the industry’s dialog about high-throughput satellites. My conversations with many of our customers confirm that Intelsat is setting the pace on technology that will support your business into the next decade.
Intelsat EpicNG is attracting the world’s leading aeronautical and maritime providers, and will bring a high-performance satellite communications infrastructure to Africa that will support such services as enterprise VSAT networks and cellular backhaul. We also are nearing completion of our global broadband mobility platform in early 2013, which will provide connectivity for customers at sea, on land and in the air.
Our launch activity supporting Africa is nearing its peak. Intelsat 20, which entered service September 17, hosts the largest DTH platform in Africa, and provides C-band video distribution for Europe, Africa, Asia and Australia. Intelsat 10 will be relocated to 47.5° East and will expand our Ku-band capacity for Africa beginning in 2013. Intelsat 23 is scheduled for launch in the fourth quarter this year, and will provide additional Ku-band capacity to support network services growth in Africa.
Finally, Intelsat 22 entered service earlier this year, and provides C- and Ku-band capacity for media, government and network services customers in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, in addition to a specialized UHF communications payload for the Australian Defence Force.
