Hello,
Season’s Greetings! It was an ‘epic’ year for Intelsat, as we launched five satellites in 2012 and expanded the IntelsatOne terrestrial network with a new Point of Presence in Miami, Florida, creating an on-ramp for providers in Latin America and across the globe.
We also introduced the next-generation Intelsat EpicNG satellite platform, which will deliver high-throughput, high-efficiency capacity using an open architecture.
We recently completed customer transitions to our newest satellite, Intelsat 23, which is providing increased capacity from Mexico to the Southern cone in South America, allowing for increased coverage and capacity growth for our customers.
Launched in August, Intelsat 21 has brought much-needed capacity for our video neighborhoods serving the Americas, and customer transitions are now largely complete.
In the first quarter next year, we will launch Intelsat 27, which will support our premier video neighborhood in Latin America at 304.5° East and provide a customized DTH platform for viewers. This satellite will carry a Ku-band mobility payload that will serve the heavily travelled North Atlantic and Caribbean regions, completing the build-out of our Ku-band global broadband mobility network.
