NAB 2014: Intelsat’s Content Distribution Solutions on Display

Intelsat will join the content community at NAB Show 2014 in Las Vegas, NV, 7-10 April 2014. You’ll find us in the Distribution/Delivery/Online Video category, exhibiting in the South Upper Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth SU3110.

“Content is king” in this data-driven, anytime, anywhere climate of connectivity, and satellite has a singular role to play in distributing that content, quickly, efficiently and ubiquitously.

Make an appointment or come by anytime during NAB Show to learn how Intelsat’s hybrid satellite-fiber solutions are evolving into the mainstay of major broadcasters’ distribution networks the world over.

During the NAB Show, be sure to come by the Intelsat booth to see our 4K UHDTV demonstration, in partnership with BT, Ericsson, Sony and Newtec. Demonstrating ecosystem readiness for the commercialization of 4K UHDTV, the team will conduct a live transmission of sports programming that was captured using Sony’s 4K equipment. The signal will be carried via IntelsatOnesm fiber, uplinked to Intelsat G-17 and downlinked at the Las Vegas Convention Center to our booth and Ericsson’s.

We’ve shown already that Intelsat satellites are ready and capable of carrying 4K UHDTV transmissions, but you won’t believe your eyes when you see that 4K content in person. Read more about the demo here.

Keys to Success in IP/MPLS Network Transport
Plan to join Intelsat also on Tuesday, 8 April from 7:40-8 a.m. PT (UTC/GMT-8) in room N117 of the Brazilian Pavilion. Ken Takagi, Director, Managed Video Services and IPTV, will share the keys to success in transporting live video over IP/MPLS networks by asking the right questions and addressing specific checkpoints in order to achieve consistent network availability of 99.99% or higher.
