Birth of a Satellite Theory - 1945

Celebrated author and inventor Arthur C. Clarke publishes his article, "Extra-terrestrial Relays" in Wireless World, detailing his theory that three satellites positioned over each ocean region in geosynchronous orbit could provide global communications. These are the fundamentals by which Intelsat and all other geosynchronous satellites and systems were formed.
