David McGlade

Since joining Intelsat in 2005, Mr. McGlade has helped grow and transform Intelsat into the leading commercial provider of satellite services that it is today. In his current role as Chairman, he is responsible for helping Intelsat cultivate and build strategic partnerships and broader business relationships, government outreach, as well as advising Intelsat’s chief executive officer and senior leadership team on business and policy issues.

Mr. McGlade was appointed Executive Chairman of Intelsat’s Board of Directors in April 2013 and served in this role through March 31, 2018 at which point he became Chairman.   He served as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer from March 2005 to March 2015. During his ten year tenure, Mr. McGlade led the Company’s $6.4 billion acquisition and successful integration of another satellite operator, PanAmSat, completed in 2006, and the sale of Intelsat to a consortium of investors led by BC Partners and Silver Lake, completed in February 2008. In April 2013, he led Intelsat’s successful initial public offering and listing on the New York Stock Exchange which raised over $500 million.

Prior to joining Intelsat, Mr. McGlade served as Chief Executive Officer of O2 UK (previously BT Cellnet) from October 2000. He has extensive experience bringing new technologies and converged services to businesses and other customers. As President, West Region, Sprint PCS, he launched the first CDMA network outside of Asia.

Mr. McGlade is currently a director of Skyworks Solutions, an innovator of high performance analog semiconductors, as well as Omnispace LLC, a mobile satellite services provider. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Rutgers University.
